What Cancer Cannot Do - Cancer is so limited...

It cannot cripple love
It cannot shatter hope
It cannot corrode faith
It cannot destroy peace
It cannot kill friendship
It cannot suppress memories (Well, maybe brain surgery can... I can't remember sh**!)
It cannot silence courage
It cannot invade the soul
It cannot steal eternal life
It cannot conquer the spirit.

Oh yes, I did it.

Say, Jo Jo, Callie, May May, Andrea, Jessy and Casey (Casey is currently spoken in a Southern accent) got to witness the beauty of me buzzing my hair before I could lose it... oh yes, I did it.

Here is a little before and after photo shoot:

I know what you're thinking, pretty darn cute. Well... I already know that.

Haha. (I'm joking).

I went to my radiology oncologist appointment yesterday. I like to call him the "radio" oncologist - it just sounds better. Breaker breaker.

I will start treatment on Monday, October the 3rd and I will have to go 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Thankfully, it is here in Boulder, less than 5 minutes away from my house. They had to mold this weird mask on my face which was NOT an easy process. It was very weird. I made it though!

I love you guys. Alot! - which brings me to my next point, read this please...

Over and out,

Breland

Also, Callie, thank you for shaving my head.

I am still, currently, the worst blogger in the world. BUT I have a joke, picture and video for you guys.

How do you catch a unique rabbit?
-Unique up on it.

How do you catch a tame rabbit?
-Tame way! Unique up on it.

I have no words for this picture...it's kind of amazing.

Hello.

I find comfort in this verse...

Revelation 7:15-17

15 “That is why they stand in front of God’s throne
and serve him day and night in his Temple.
And he who sits on the throne
      will give them shelter.
 16 They will never again be hungry or thirsty;
they will never be scorched by the heat of the sun.
17 For the Lamb on the throne
      will be their Shepherd.
He will lead them to springs of life-giving water.
And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.”

...and this picture of Rizzo the Rat:

Side note: I'm terrible at blogging.

I dropped off the MRI disk at the Rocky Mountain Cancer Center yesterday, which is where I will be getting my radiation. The chemo is taken orally. I have an appointment for tomorrow with the radio oncologist (or whatever he is called...). I will keep you posted on how it goes. He seems really cool.

Also, if anyone is curious, my friend showed me this other blog.  A woman who just started treatment for a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor. Here is the link: The Helium Burden

9/18/2011

I am going to San Diego, CA this upcoming week. I figured it would be a good time to get out right before treatment starts. Any suggestions on what to do? We have a boat at our disposal but that's about all I know. I fly out on Friday morning the 23rd, stay until Wednesday the 28th where I fly to Dallas to hang out with the sibs for a few days. Back in Boulder on Saturday night the 1st of October. Treatment starts on Oct. 3rd!

Happy Birthday, Nick! (Brother)

Glioblastoma Multiforme Grade IV Tumor

So...

I was having the "worst headache of my life" about 3 weeks ago and thought it was a migraine. Callie took me to Urgent Care where they prescribed me Valium, Vicodin, and a muscle relaxer. Thank God I got a second opinion! Haha.

Turns out, I have a Grade 4 Tumor in my brain. It's called a Glioblastoma Multiforme. You can read more about it here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glioblastoma_multiforme

Things happened really fast and I ended up having surgery where they removed most of the tumor. I had my surgery on September 2nd. I start treatment next week (a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy). We have to be very aggressive with it. Good news is that at this point they don't have to go in for a second surgery. The treatment should be 6 weeks on, 4 weeks off.

Thank you for all the prayers! I appreciate them more than you know!

Jo Jo sent me this from Canada!

This too...
